Russian TV Interview

Following is a transcript of the interview. It was done on March 25 (Eastern Australian time) via zoom – prior to the Luna announcement and subsequent hearings featuring Oliver Stone – of which I will have more to say following the transcript. This was my third interview with them in regard to release of files, although I am sure there was more to it than that on the part of the Russians. The second interview was not long prior to the invasion of the Ukraine, and the questions I had on that occasion seemed like fishing for provocative answers in regard to potential conflict or war if the files showed “foreign” (i.e. Soviet) involvement. It struck me then that President Putin was fishing for a pretext to war, or antagonism of some sort. Hindsight seems to support that, even if in a different arena.
On a side issue, during the first interview (in 2017 or 2018), myself and Bart Kamp, who was interviewed separately, both largely ignored the questions they asked and tried to engage on the Darnell and Weigman film situation. Obviously to no avail, so I did not raised it in the second interview, but did at least mention it again in this one.
Again, what I said here was prior to the Luna announcement.
Also note that some of the transcript is redacted as it is material I have set aside for the rewrite of my book.

1. Can you opine on the date of the files / recordings release, why now?
The JFK Act from the 1990s mandated that all the records should be released by 2017, unless there were valid privacy or national security reasons for withholding or redacting. President Trump had promised during the election to fulfill that obligation but in the end, was convinced by the agencies to continue withholding numerous records. The same pattern occurred in the following year – 2018. Then President Biden made some baffling decisions on a release timetable which meant further, and in some cases, indefinite delays. During the 2024 election, President Trump again promised to release all of the remaining documents. However, some documents still have redactions.
The other issue is that the JFK records Act not only stated that all JFK records should be included in the collection, it described what a JFK record is – and it includes not only paper files, but audio recordings and films – and extends beyond government records to include records being privately held or in the vaults of corporations.
So, the bottom line is that we will never have a complete record because there is no effort being made to obtain those privately held records, which I must add includes film that could exonerate Oswald. This was NBC film which showed the front steps of the school book building around the time of the shots, and probably confirms that Oswald was on those steps, even if only briefly.
The “why now” part of the question is this: certain sections of the Republican Party have long wanted to “capture” and claim JFK as a victim of their imaginary “deep state” in order to use that narrative for their own ends. I don’t want to bring politics into it . But I will add that President Putin knows the mind of President Trump better than anyone, so “why now” and why Trump would be good questions to put to your president. I think his insights would be very interesting. The easy answer is that he is just following the law. But personally, as indicated, I believe there is more to it than that, tied to President Trump’s personality and wider Republican Party ambitions as laid out in the Project 2025 manifesto.
2. Do you believe that newly published files have brought any significant revelations about the assassination or about the operations that CIA conducted during Cold WAR?
I don’t believe anyone, including myself, has had the time to go through every single document, but the most significant item so far would appear to be that the CIA’s James Angleton was watching Oswald more closely than previously thought.
That in itself is not suspicious, or surprising, considering the nature of James Angleton, combined with the nature of his duties.
During the Cold War, the CIA maintained files on many individuals with any hint of foreign connections or unorthodox behavior. Oswald’s travels, his apparent left-leaning beliefs, and his time in the Soviet Union would all be red flags. In many ways, Angleton’s actions appear to be a byproduct of standard counterintelligence vigilance since he was tasked with keeping tabs on people who, even just peripherally, might have been susceptible to espionage or influence, especially given the pervasive paranoia of the era.
That said, Angleton was an intense, obsessive individual whose record-keeping was not always orthodox. Just speculative suspicion about Oswald would have been enough to warrant, in his mind, close surveillance, which does leave the door open to Oswald being used as perhaps an unwitting asset in various operations.
3. Can you comment on the revealed connections between Australian secret services and CIA?
Australia set up it’s security services in 1949 under the urgings of both the US and Britain, but were modelled more along the lines of the British services. The Australian services would have been subservient to both the British and US services, and I would suspect the Australians basically did whatever was asked. Nothing much has changed, unfortunately.
4. Can you shed light on the strange calls that were received by the embassy in Canberra before and after the assassination?
The calls were made by a Polish national who claimed to be a driver for Soviet embassy officials. He stated that he overheard elements of a JFK assassination plot in 1962 and in 1963. The documents on this were originally released in the 1990s and have been re-released several times since, each time with some redactions removed. This highlights one of the issues with the releases. Many are not new at all, though some news outlets are assuming they are. They just have some redactions removed. Another issue is that many are just plain unreadable because of the poor quality.
It was the Australian authorities who asked that the documents not be released as they did not want it known that the CIA was operating here. They did investigate the claims and found that the Soviets – hardly surprisingly – only used Soviet drivers – and did not use the type of car the driver claimed. They dismissed him as a crank – a nutcase. But another possibility is he himself was working for an anti-communist émigré group trying to cause the Soviets problems.
5. Can you comment on new facts about Gary Underhill’s actions, strange death?
I am on the fence on this, It does look suspicious and he had connections to gun and possibly drug running on behalf of CIA – profits which may have financed off-the-books operations. His association with gun dealers such as Interarms and Interarmco are worth further investigation as these were CIA fronts.
My main hesitancy is that if he was murdered, it was a very amateurish job. He was right-handed but the entry wound, and weapon were found on his left side, making the ruling of suicide seem a little odd. But the CIA would have known he was right-handed and would have made sure the scene was set up to look like he used his right hand – not his left.
6. Can you tell more about Oswald background, connections, motives?
This is a subject I could go in any and every direction on, but I will try and keep it as short as I can.
Oswald was surrounded from a very young age by intelligence operatives, starting in 1945 when his mother married Edwin Ekdahl. Ekdahl had worked [xx x xxxxxx xxxxx xxxx xxxxxx xxx xxx xxxxxx xx xxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx xx xx xxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxr tt xxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx xx xxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxx xxxx xxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxx xxx xx xxxx x xxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxxxx] Then [xxxxxx xxxx xx xxx xxxxxxx xxx x xxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxx xxx x xxxxxxx xxxxxxx xx xxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxx xx xxxxx xxx xxxxx xxxxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxx xxxxxx xxx xxxxxxxx xx xxxx xxxxxx xxx xx xxxx xx xxxx xxxx xx xxxxx xx xxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxx xxxx xxx xxx xxxx xxxxxxx xx xxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxxxx xxxx xxxxx]
Then in 1952, a few years after Marguerite and Ekdahl divorced, she took Lee to stay in New York with her oldest son, born to her first husband, named Pic. This son was John and during the time Lee lived with him in the Bronx, John was working for the Port Security Unit of the Coast Guard. This unit was the intelligence unit of the Coast Guard and was tasked with rooting out communisis and subversives from US ports. In doing so, they relied upon both FBI and Office of Naval Intelligence informants. No investigations were ever undertaken, An allegation was all it took to ruin someone’s life.
Then later, living back in New Orleans, he joined the Civil Air Patrol and came into contact with CIA asset David Ferrie who was secretly organizing anti-subversive cells within his units.
the last commanding officer he had in the Marines was a man named John Donovan who was an ex-FBI agent and would soon exit the marines to join the diplomatic corps – which in all likelihood meant the CIA.
Ruth Paine, who he and his wife Marina befriended, and Marina lived with in the lead up to the assassination, had a sister who was employed as a psychologist for the CIA under military cover, and her father was also considered for CIA use.
We all know that some types of personalities and psychological make-up can make some people easy to manipulate – especially if you know their full family history, their likes and dislikes, and their wants and needs. There are some current world leaders who come to mind. But Oswald was also in this category. I believe had he been alive today, he would have been diagnosed with a spectrum disorder.
7. Have recently revealed files provided the audience with new information about him?
Not really, although that could change as we go through them all. What is in the files is the extent of the false narratives around him – and about his life – but in particular the false narratives of his life after his return from the Soviet Union in June 1962 through to his death on Nov 24 1963.
Those false narratives include
• the ordering of weapons through the mail
• That he was a wife-beater
• That he was the person who attempted to assassinate General Edwin Walker
• That he ordered the pro-Castro flyers that he handed out in New Orleans
• That he used at least two aliases – AJ Hidell and OH Lee
• That he lived at certain addresses that he in fact never lived at
• That he travelled to Mexico City in order to obtain a visa to Cuba.
• That he set up a sniper’s nest on the 6th floor of the building on Nov 22
• That he carried a rifle to work that day wrapped in brown paper
• That he fled the scene within minutes of the shooting, but then took a slow bus, before switching to a taxi, though not before offering the taxi to a lady also wanting one.
Not a single one of those items is true, and there is solid and multiple types of evidence in support of that claim.
So, the question on motive is immaterial. He was completely uninvolved in any plot, except as the unwitting fall guy. And he told the Dallas police and the press everything he knew.
He never killed anyone
he never owned any weapons
He was only picked up because he had lived in the Soviet Union
•He was a patsy

Famed JFK director and conspiracy pusher Oliver Stone has suggested NBC is hiding a never-before-seen video that proves Lee Harvey Oswald couldn’t have killed President John F. Kennedy in 1963, Knewz.com can reveal.
The Oscar winner urged a congressional committee to force the network to release what they have.
https://knewz.com/jfk-conspiracy-loon-floats-surprising-theory/
So the misrepresentation of the facts continue. It is not a video. It is news footage. It is not hidden. It is stored. They have simply refused to release it for study. They are happy to release multi-generational copies that are useless for this type of study. These copies are all over the web.
Now my gripe. Stone and his company were approached several years ago to help get the films from NBC. Neither Stone nor his company gave a flying fuck. I believe this is because the request was coming from a group of “nobodies”. But then the lawyers for the Assassination Archives and Research Center were convinced to add the films to the legal actions regarding the records.
With the new Trump administration, and the conspiracy-minded Ms. Luna put in charge of getting the files released, it was not difficult for those lawyers to get her on board. Although again, she misrepresented the situation. But having got to this level of government, it is no surprise that Oliver Stone was secured to jump on board. It is a pity he did not do that years ago when asked by the “nobodies”.
It is what I have devoted 20 years of my life to. And others have also worked their asses off for.
Whilst they allegedly have a panel of assassination “experts” at these hearings, it is noteworthy that not a single person involved in gathering the supporting evidence for Oswald’s alibi for being outside – the same crew who Stone and others have rejected in the past to help get those films, was invited to be involved.
Nevertheless, I hope the effort is successful and is not turned into a conspiracy freak show, or used for political ends.
Unlike others, I do not charge for subscriptions. However, I do like coffee, so if you would care to buy me one, that would be great!

Well said. History is filled with unsung heroes and there will, hopefully, always be those more intent on seeing right done than society doing right by them.
Absolutely true that this is more important than any individual.
But Stone and di Eugenio should have helped years ago when asked, instead of jumping on the bandwagon when the government and tv news cameras got involved.
So again – – I hope they succeed – but then I hope a pox descends on both their houses.
